I am so sorry! I missed last week! Can you ever forgive me? Please don’t let this ruin our friendship, because this may or may not happen again. I’m just warning!

If you are reading this sentence, I am taking it that I have been forgiven and we can continue on being friends. YAY! :)

Now, on to what you really came here for!

Okay, this article is going to cover two things: 1. Concord Music Hall 2.Timeflies. Mostly Timeflies if I am being honest, but I will also discuss Concord Music Hall.

So, Concord Music Hall is located at 2047 N. Milwaukee Ave in Chicago. The area is “hipster meets sketch”. There was this little taco shack across the street that looked interesting, but unfortunately, I wasn’t able to eat at. If you are looking at the building from the street, there is a parking lot on the left and it is the first building in a long attached row of buildings on the block.

When you first walk in, you are in a wide, long hallway that leads to a staircase. You go up a few flights of stairs before making it to the top where the stage is. The room is wide open, with a bar on the left hand side. The have a balcony level, but you could only go up there if you had a ticket.

Doors had opened at 6:30 pm; I had arrived closer to 7 pm. There were shockingly not as many people as I had anticipated being there at that time. More people starting piling in at about 10 after or so until it became packed closer to the first opening act’s start time around 7:30 pm. I was closer to the stage than I have ever been to see Timeflies perform. It was wonderful.

Baby Raptors and Bryce Vine opened. Baby Raptors is dance pop with both 80s and modern influences. Bryce Vine is a rapper. I have never heard of either one, but I happily noted them as artists to look into. You may want to do the same.

Timeflies was AMAZING as always! If you don’t know who they are, please, take a minute and listen to ‘Under the sea’ by them on Youtube. I understand if you continue on a rabbit hole of videos with them. I’m not offended.

They played some songs from their Too much and Too dream EPs, but with the vibe from everyone, they also played a lot of throwback songs! I think they played at least one song from every album they have, as well as mixing in their Tuesday mixes. Of course, Cal did a freestyle based on things sent in to prove to any doubters that he can, indeed, freestyle. Rez broke out his guitar and they performed a mini acoustic mash-up session. They even did two more songs for their encore.

I cannot stress to you how much their concerts are just amazing. Every time I have seen them, they have given everything to the show and you can feel the crowd giving it right back. I always leave their concerts on this adrenaline high because there is so much energy from the moment they step on stage, until the moment that they walk off. Not to mention that their interaction with the crowd is amazing. They connect with you but don’t drag on. They are funny and to the point.

They will be coming to Wisconsin for Summerfest, so if you can make it, DO IT! It’s an experience you won’t forget!
